In her coverage of the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (titled "Dixie Chicks Sweet Revenge"), Luciana Lopez of the Dead Fish Wrapper could barely contain her glee about the five awards that the Dixie Chicks received for their CD "Taking The Long Way".

Time might not heal everything, but apparently five Grammys do the trick: The Dixie Chicks' kiss-off song, "Not Ready to Make Nice," along with their "Taking the Long Way" album earned the Texas trio an armful of trophies Sunday night, almost four years after their criticism of President Bush got them into hot water with the conservative country establishment.

PBS will be airing a four part series called "News War", which purports to cover the relationship between the government and the news media. Coming from PBS, though, you can expect what it is - biased against Bush and any conservatives.

This is made clear in reading Ted Mahar's review of the show, and he also shows his anti-Republican, anti-Conservative bias.

The liberal left continues to show its "tolerance" for opposing views on the topic of global warming, but this time, the Fish Wrapper chooses to ignore it. As initially reported on the KGW web site and picked up nationally by Drudge and Newsbusters, our do-nothing governor Teddy has once again demonstrated how two faced liberals can be.

As with the Fish Wrapper, the KGW article was slanted against Taylor:

Steve | Gordon Smith, Iraq, Jeff Kosseff, Metro, MoveOn.org

The Fish Wrapper reporters continue to demonstrate their ability to tell only one side of a story in order to paint conservatives in a bad light. Today's example is a piece by Jeff Kosseff about a national TV ad being put out by the liberal moonbats at MoveOn.org. The ad are targeted at eight senators, including Gordon Smith, who voted against cloture on a non-binding resolution against the war in Iraq.

What Kosseff (and of course, the MoveOn ads) fails to disclose is the reason the Republicans voted that way. As detailed at TimesWatch in an article about the New York Times coverage of the vote, there is another side to the story:

Steve | Editorials, English Only

It never ceases to amaze me how the Fish Wrapper editors can be so willfully ignorant of the facts so often. Today's blindness comes to us courtesy of the topic House Bill 2459, submitted by Rep. Donna Nelson, R-McMinnville. The bill would make English the official language of Oregon.

As they do with anything that would dare to cause any minor discomfort to illegal immigrants, the editors have a problem with this, too.

It wouldn't change anything. It wouldn't send illegal residents packing or help legal ones assimilate. Perhaps it would soothe some fears, though, by erecting a symbolic fence. Around the country, many people worry about illegal immigration, in part because they find the influx of newcomers scary. Old-timers fear they no longer fit into the future of their own states.

Steve | Canadian Free Press, Global Warming, Ignored Stories

Now that the IPCC's politicized summary has proclaimed the global warming is man made, more and more scientists with impeccable credentials are speaking out against the idea that it's all mankind's fault.

Timothy Ball, a climatologist from Canada, writes in today's Canadian Free Press about the media hysteria surrounding global warming.

Global Warming, as we think we know it, doesn't exist. And I am not the only one trying to make people open up their eyes and see the truth. But few listen, despite the fact that I was the first Canadian Ph.D. in Climatology and I have an extensive background in climatology, especially the reconstruction of past climates and the impact of climate change on human history and the human condition. Few listen, even though I have a Ph.D, (Doctor of Science) from the University of London, England and was a climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg. For some reason (actually for many), the World is not listening. Here is why.

Steve | Global Warming, Ignored Stories

As has been made nauseatingly obvious for a while now, the Fish Wrapper, in their continuing quest to present the only side of any story that is favorable to their liberal view, continues to beat the drum of human caused global warming. As such, you will never see them publish any story that presents the opposing view. It is therefore my duty to present these stories to demonstrate how one sided the Fish Wrapper is, especially on this topic (hat tip to Newsbusters in both cases).

The first story is about Dr. Nir Shaviv, an Israeli astrophycisist who has been doing research for years trying to determine if there is a direct correlation between rising levels of CO2 and rising temperatures. His studies suggest otherwise, leading him to recant his original position on the subject:

Steve | Front, Global Warming, IPCC, Michael Milstein, Richard L. Hill

As was to be expected, the Dead Fish Wrapper joined the frenzy that the rest of the MSM is in about the report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which basically blames human activity for the supposed increase in temperature otherwise known as global warming.

But one article wasn't enough. In addition to the front page headline that screamed "Life as we know it gets blame for global warming", there was also a half page article on page A6 entitled "Global warming's runaway train" that was clips from wire reports about how scientists and lawmakers are talking about polar bears, grennhouse gas emissions, and the Great Barrier Reef among other things.

Steve | Associated Press, Barack Obama, Front, Ignored Stories, Joe Biden

True to form, the Fish Wrapper, continues it's history of ignoring comments made by a liberal Democrat that would be front page news if they were made by a Republican.

The comments this time were made by Joe Biden, Democrat senator from Delaware. In an interview with the New Yorker magazine, he said

"You got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

This was the same man, who said last June:

Steve | George Taylor, Global Warming, Metro, Michael Milstein, Philip Mote

Today's display of liberal bias by the Dead Fish Wrapper has to do with that favorite liberal topic of Global Warming. The tool for displaying it is an article about a debate on global warming.

Tonight at OMSI, George Taylor and Philip Mote will debate global warming and its causes. Taylor is the head of the Oregon Climate Service, and Mote is the state climatologist in Washington state.

Tha article actually starts out pretty evenhanded.
