For The Dead Fish Wrapper, Abortion Is A Civil Right

As anybody who hasn't been living under a rock for the past 40 years know, abortion is one of the most sacred cows of the liberal left and the Oregonian (but I repeat myself).  Any restrictions on abortions cause murderous screams of anger from the left, because they can't stand to have someone tell them they can't murder their unborn children.  There isn't much gray area there.  This screaming and anguish is continued in the editorial from Novermber 9th, and the title says it all: "An unacceptable cutback in access to abortion".

Health care reform should not be pursued as a mission so impossible that it justifies restricting women's access to abortion.

That, however, is exactly what the House did Saturday night in passing the most significant health care overhaul in 44 years. The legislation was historic, but at what price? It was amended at the last minute with antiabortion provisions so restrictive that they would undermine the civil rights of American women.

The British Telegraph ran a truly gut-wrenching article Friday about an artist that hanged herself in England a few weeks ago because she couldn't bear the fact that she had aborted her twins.

Be forewarned: anyone on either side of the abortion debate who reads this piece will do so with tears in his or her eyes.

After your emotions for this poor woman pass, ask yourself whether our pro-abortion press would handle this story with the reverence and respect the Telegraph did (h/t NBer saw the light):

Bias On Display In Favor Of Murdering Children

On Wednesday (4/18/07) the Supreme Court upheld the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 by a vote of 5-4. This law bans a very gruesome form of late term abortion where, as described to the judge in National Abortion Federation vs. Ashcroft

the physician grasps the fetus's lower extremity with fingers or forceps and pulls the fetus through the cervix and vagina until its head is lodged in the cervical opening. At this point, the fetus's arms and legs have been delivered outside the uterus while the fetus is still alive. With the fetus's head lodged in the cervix, the physician punctures the skull with scissors or crushes the head with forceps.... The physician then drains the fetus's skull by suction, or by using a finger, and the skull collapses.

Dead Fish Wrapper Plays Up Anti-War Protests, Hides Much Larger Pro-Life Rally

So here's a question for you; you're a newspaper, and there are two national events to be covered. First, an annual conservative march that has hundreds of thousands of people, and second, a liberal march that draws only in the tens of thousands of people. How do you cover them? Do you a) give the one with the much larger attendance more coverage, or do you b) give the smaller one much more space because it's a liberal event?

Knowing the Daily Dead Fish Wrapper, this one isn't hard to figure out; the answer is b.

On January 22nd, the annual March For Life took place on the mall in Washington, D.C. The protesters numbered in the hundreds of thousands. According to LifeNews:
