Hiding the Truth About Senate Bill 2 and Ideological Indoctrination

As I've documented here before, the Fish Wrapper, in its ongoing quest to push the liberal, homosexual agenda as far as it can, continues to trumpet Senate Bill 2. However, as usual, in doing so, it plays down the reverse discrimination and ideological indoctrination that is part of the bill.

In his article entitled "Gay-rights bills gain ground", Bill Graves states his point of view very clearly right off the top:

How To Show Bias Against Opposing Views On Global Warming Hype

Most of the time, the Fish Wrapper's (and Associated Press') bias is pretty obvious, but sometimes it's a little more subtle. A perfect example of this subtle bias is an AP article about William Gray, one of our leading hurricane forecasters. Gray made some comments about Al Gore and his global warming hype:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A top hurricane forecaster called Al Gore "a gross alarmist" Friday for making an Oscar-winning documentary about global warming.

Being Overwhelmed With Useless IPCC Study On Global Warming

Now that the next part of the IPCC study has come out, the Daily Dead Fish Wrapper has been doing its best to overwhelm its readers with dire news about global warming. Just a brief search on the Fish Wrapper site for the term "IPCC" brings up 17 different AP articles about the useless study and all the politics behind the scenes.

Here are some of the articles:

Fish Wrapper Hides Dark Side of Anti-War Protest

Considering the biased coverage given to the anti-war protesters (and the much larger in number) counter protesters in Washington D.C on March 17th by papers like the Washington Post, I expected the same from the Dead Fish Wrapper when they covered the anti-war protests that took place in Portland the next day. Needless to say, I wasn't surprised at all. There was one difference from the Washington DC protests, though, and that was what the Fish Wrapper hid; instead of hiding a larger number of counter protesters, they hid the dark, repulsive side of the protest.

Trying To Use Evangelicals As Ammunition Against War

In its liberal quest to avoid unbiased reporting and beat the drum against both President Bush and the war in Iraq, the Fish Wrapper is now attempting to use evangelical Christians against both of them. This is displayed in Tuesday's article by Julie Sullivan entitled "Evangelicals: Against abortion and now war."

The purpose of the article is to show how evangelical Christians who initially supported President Bush's decision to invade Iraq are now changing their minds. However, if you look through the article, Sullivan fails terribly, because she really has no data to back up her point of view. She even admits it up front:

Another Double Standard For MSM On U.S. Attorney Firings

The Fish Wrapper is back with another display of double standard-itis, this time on the firing of 8 U.S. Attorneys by the Bush administration. Back in March, 1993, Janet Reno requested the resignations of all 93 U.S. Attorneys at once. Where the double standard comes shining through is the fact that in the articles that the Fish Wrapper prints, not one mention is made of this fact.

Tuesday's front page article by Dan Eggen and John Solomon of the LA Times and Washington Post is a classic example. As explained by Brent Bozell of the Media Research Center:

Even Profiles Of Conservatives Have To Be "Moderate" For Fish Wrapper

I've mentioned a few times that I wonder if the Fish Wrapper would ever do a profile of a conservative, since it seems that they only profile liberal loonies like Jules Boykoff. Well, they finally managed to do it, but of course, it was about Vicki Berger, a "moderate" Republican. Translation: a Republican who is almost a Democrat. You can tell where the piece is going right from the beginning.

SALEM -- It's not every day that Oregon's Democratic governor personally thanks a Republican legislator for following the courage of her convictions.

Apparently it's only a good thing for Teddy when your convictions are for socialism and higher taxes.

Carlin Demonstrates Again That Glossing Over Negatives Only Good For Liberals

As I've documented here before multiple times, when it comes to profiles in the Fish Wrapper, they have to make liberals look as good as possible, even if it means conveniently "forgetting" to mention things that might be negative. But, if you're a conservative, nothing is too small or too negative to be included.

Today's demonstration of this is a profile of Thom Hartmann, a talk show host on KPOJ, the Portland affiliate of the liberal (now bankrupt) Air America radio network.

Dead Fish Wrapper Ignores Biden Remarks Because He's A Democrat

True to form, the Fish Wrapper, continues it's history of ignoring comments made by a liberal Democrat that would be front page news if they were made by a Republican.

The comments this time were made by Joe Biden, Democrat senator from Delaware. In an interview with the New Yorker magazine, he said

"You got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

This was the same man, who said last June:

Fish Wrapper Continues Hype About Global Warming With IPCC Study

As was to be expected, the Dead Fish Wrapper joined the frenzy that the rest of the MSM is in about the report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which basically blames human activity for the supposed increase in temperature otherwise known as global warming.

But one article wasn't enough. In addition to the front page headline that screamed "Life as we know it gets blame for global warming", there was also a half page article on page A6 entitled "Global warming's runaway train" that was clips from wire reports about how scientists and lawmakers are talking about polar bears, grennhouse gas emissions, and the Great Barrier Reef among other things.
